Walter Stomps taught painting at Western Kentucky University for well over a decade. During this time period he created his own style of painting using industrial paper towels. He used a step-by-step process of underpainting in layers with acrylics. It was a time intensive project which he taught all of his students as he exclusively designed this method of painting while and WKU and as a student at the Chicago Art Institute. It should be noted that he graduated in the same class of famed artist: Jim Dine. He often talked of his fellow alumni fondly and he shared his many experiences traveling to Greece and Turkey with the class while he taught at the university. His works can still be seen in the library and around the campus to this day.
8-21-2017 Professional Development at Hopkinsville Community College.I had a great day watching the eclipse in Hopkinsville Kentucky at the community college. The best part was having lunch with an astronaut. Stephen Bowen was an amazing guest speaker for the university and it made the event very special for everyone in the community that attended! Way to go Hopkinsville Community College. Great planning for this event!

We welcome all visual art students back to the classroom. Rule #11 will apply to this school year... our custodians would appreciate us working harder to keep the floor sparkle down and classroom sparkle up! Have a great school year everyone! **Kentucky Gold Key Awards
